About Us

Welcome to NRCC!

Napier Rock Climbing Club is a recently established club at Edinburgh Napier University, going into it’s fourth year. The club has over 60 members, half of which are active at least once a month or more. The club is student run and was founded to bring fellow climbers together through our sport and by providing a great social environment.

Rock climbing is a sport that engages both your body and mind, whilst testing and challenging your agility, endurance and balance. Whether you are a complete beginner or have been climbing for years, Napier Rock Climbing Club has something for you.  Not only is climbing an excellent way to keep fit and have fun, but there are also many opportunities to compete in a variety of competitions.

What?

We climb. And drink quite a lot. Though not at the same time.

Where?

Anywhere we can. Mostly indoors at Alien Rock 1 in Leith and Alien Bloc on Dunedin Street, but we climb outdoors when we can, weather permitted.

When?

We climb on Wednesdays at Alien Rock 1 for top roping and lead climbing, and on Sundays we are bouldering at Alien Bloc.

Why join us?

Rock Climbing is a great activity to make friends at University and learn to do something different. You’ll have the chance to compete in competitions, train regularly and also spend time in the Meadows with fantastic people slacklining and BBQing.
